Varie Walton,
Director of Housekeeping
Ms. Walton has worked for the Gardens at
Hawkins since the day it opened ten years ago.
Pledge to Clients: “To do the best I can for
all people while I can and for as long as I can.”
Ms. Walton is always willing to lend her time, ear,
advice, and knowledge to each and everyone.
Professional Experience: Ms. Walton is a
Lay Minister for the United Methodist Church and is
certified in teaching and training in all areas of
Christian Education.
Education: Ms. Walton has a high school
diploma, and has completed a course in Cosmetology,
and has completed two years of college.

Jennifer Clardy, Office
Manager
Jennifer Clardy’s
problems solving and administrative skills are a valuable asset to the
Gardens at Hawkins and the Gardens at Livingston.
Pledge to Clients:
As office manager for the Gardens at Hawkins and the Gardens at
Livingston, she strives to create a comfortable, supportive environment
that continues to encourage residents, allowing them to make choices and
help them live their lives to their fullest.
Outside Interests:
“I enjoy spending time with
my family and friends. I also enjoy anything involving animals, real
estate, computer programs, games, fishing, hunting, camping, books &
NASCAR.”
Personal
Information: She is the wife of Richard Clardy and mother of three
wonderful children Jared, Angela and Breana.

Larry Gibson, Director of Life
Safety
Larry Gibson performs
multiple roles for both facilities. The first role is that of an
investor/shareholder. Secondly, Larry is the Director of Life Safety, a
fulfilling role that he takes very seriously.
Pledge to Clients:
“I ensure that all staff and
residents will be well trained in fire drills and emergency evacuations.
I am personally responsible and accountable for training all employees
in fire evacuation, fire extinguisher training, supervising fire drills
and updating all life safety plans and will ensure that all plans are in
compliance with state rules and regulations.”
Outside interests:
“I enjoy spending time with
my son Zachary who has just completed his first year of law school.”

Lacey Overstreet-Phillips,
CALM
Ms. Phillips has served
as Executive Director with The Gardens at Livingston since 2008 and most
recently serves as supervisor of operations at The Gardens at Hawkins.
Professional
Experience: Ms. Phillips has worked in the health care business for 20
years. Her experience ranges from volunteering in nursing homes as a
teenager, becoming a volunteer Ombudsman in 2005, and finally as an
Executive Director. “My love for seniors is innate to me.”
Ms.
Phillips is developing and coordinating the first Senior Health Expo in
Polk County, Texas in October, 2010. The public will be invited to
attend.
Pledge:
To provide an active environment for our residents while ensuring that
residents receive the utmost care from well trained attendants.
Outside interests:
Volunteering at her children’s school.

Karen Lee Carroll, Resident Relations Manager
Karen serves as our
main Liaison with Residents and Family Members where she oversees
Resident's Rights and Customer Service Management by listening to
concerns, implementing programs and activities to better the
relationship between all residents and staff.
Pledge to Clients: Serving as
liaison with residents, family members in professional manner the
highest regard for ethics and integrity
Outside Interests:
She
enjoys shopping at East Texas Antique establishments and Canton 1st
Monday Trades Days.
Professional Background:
Karen
has served as an Executive Administrator for AT&T before coming to The
Gardens.
